This method is incredibly reliable and is used widely to protect sensitive transactions and information online.
Our primary processing system for credit cards is provided by Stripe. We also offer PayPal as a payment option, as well as Alipay for customers in China.
The DigiCert Secured seal confirms that an independent online security provider has verified our credentials, including that we are authorized to accept credit card payments, and provided us with an SSL certificate that is used to encrypt communication between your computer and our site.
We have an easy-to-calculate pricing system with no surprises, and it is based on two simple things: word count and turnaround time. Unlike other editorial and language-service companies, we don't offer vague quotes based on a hefty hourly rate or have confusing per-1,000-word rates—we provide instant quotes for all of our standard services. Every service page on this site has a handy quote widget, where you can type in your word count to get an exact price for different turnaround times. Yes! We can hold funds in your account for future orders. Please start by registering your account here: https://www.scribendi.com/register. Once that is done, we will have to set up your account; please contact our Customer Service department at customerservice@scribendi.com to get started.
Once the account is set up, you will be able to generate a pro forma invoice if needed. Once the funds have arrived, you will be able to use them to pay for your order through our online checkout.
Our preferred method of payment is via credit card: we accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, Diners, UnionPay, and JCB cards. Scribendi has a secure credit card processing system provided by Stripe. In addition, we do not store credit card information, so the security of your card information is always guaranteed.
We also accept Maestro cards through PayPal, as well as PayPal payments. For customers in China, we accept Alipay. Registered retail customers and corporate/government/organizational clients can arrange payments via ACH or wire transfer.
You don't need to register to use Scribendi’s editing and proofreading services, but if you do register, you can save time and money! If you register, you will benefit from a number of features:
- Whenever you place an order, you will save time because your name and address will be remembered.
- You can log in to view all of your current and previous orders.
- You will qualify for special offers, discounts, and customer rewards.
- You can apply to have your orders billed to a business account.
Your personal information will be kept confidential (see our privacy policy for details), and your credit card details will not be stored in your customer profile.
Our quote widget automatically calculates and applies a discount for the following: A) when you choose a service with a longer turnaround time, B) when you want us to work on a large document, and C) when you order during off-peak periods.
Some examples:
- You will save money if you order a 48-hour turnaround time rather than a 24-hour turnaround time or if you choose a 1-week turnaround time rather than a 72-hour turnaround time.
- You will save money if you have a very large document, such as a book manuscript.
- You will save money if you choose to have documents edited during the week rather than on the weekend.

We have an easy pricing system with no surprises, and it is based on two simple things: word count and turnaround time. To determine your word count in MS Word, go to the Review tab or Tools menu and select Word Count. If you want your footnotes/endnotes to be edited, make sure to check the option to include footnotes and endnotes in the word count. You can also use the Scribendi Word Count Tool to get a word count, and this is particularly helpful if you do not have a Word document (a .doc or .docx file). You can simply copy and paste your text into the Word Count Tool, and it will provide the word count for your document.
Unlike other companies, we don’t offer vague quotes based on hefty hourly rates or confusing calculations. To find the price for your document, simply select the most appropriate service on our home page, type in your word count (or upload your file and let our automated system find the word count), and then use the instant quote widget to generate a free quote.
Yes! Scribendi is a global company in every sense of the word. All you need is a valid credit card, PayPal, or Alipay account and you can use our services. If you are unable to pay with one of these direct and easy methods, we also accept wire transfers, but please note that these may cause delays in your order being processed. For more details on wire transfers, please contact Customer Service.
There is no minimum order size, but we do have a minimum charge of 10 XDR (which is around USD14, depending on currency conversion rates) to cover administrative costs. If you have several small documents, you might consider putting them all in one order to get the best value for your dollar.
If you live in Canada, your orders with Scribendi are subject to the Goods and Services Tax (GST) at 5% or the Harmonized Sales Tax (HST) at the rate applicable in your province. If you live in the Province of Quebec, your orders are subject to the GST at 5% and the Quebec Sales Tax (QST) at 9.9975%, and this amount will appear as a separate item in your quote and final invoice.
If you live in Australia, your orders with Scribendi are subject to the Goods and Services Tax (GST) at 10%. This amount will appear as a separate item in your quote and final invoice.
If you live outside of Canada and Australia, Scribendi does not automatically charge sales tax. However, please note that you may be required to self-assess the tax. We recommend that you consult your local accountant for more information.
You submit your payment information at the same time you place your order. As soon as your payment has been approved, we begin our work. To ensure that there are no delays in processing your order and getting a revised document back to you, please make every effort to provide an accurate word count. We do try to double check this.
We offer our customers instant quotes in a wide range of currencies. To ensure that our prices remain stable in real value and give all of our customers worldwide equal shelter from exchange rate volatility, we base our retail price calculations on the SDR, a standard and widely used basket of major currencies that accounts for more than 80% of all currency trading.
Our corporate account customers can benefit from negotiated prices in the currency of their choice.

Scribendi is pleased to provide quotes in a wide range of currencies; where possible, we will bill you in the currency you have selected. Otherwise, your quote will be converted to US Dollars during checkout, and your card issuer will convert the amount to your local currency on your bill. Your card issuer sets its own exchange rate, which will be slightly different from ours.
Your payment will be listed on your bill as SCRIBENDI.COM followed by the amount quoted on our site. If necessary, your card issuing bank will convert this amount into your local currency at the current exchange rate.
We also accept PayPal payments. For customers in China, Alipay can be used. Registered retail customers and corporate/government/organizational clients can arrange payments via ACH or wire transfer. To register, please see our Create an Account page.
If you have registered and saved a quote, the quote will remain valid for up to seven days.
