Chatham, Ontario, August 30, 2019: Scribendi is proud to be selected as a recipient of the Women Entrepreneurship Fund, a federal fund that aims to assist women entrepreneurs in growing their businesses and pursuing opportunities in domestic and global markets.
The Government of Canada is advancing women's economic empowerment with the first-ever Women Entrepreneurship Strategy. According to CBC News, this is a $2-billion investment that seeks to double the number of national, women-owned businesses by 2025.
Because of the Women Entrepreneurship Fund, Scribendi can continue developing the Scribendi Accelerator, the best tool for automatic grammatical error correction that uses artificial intelligence in the editing and proofreading field. The development of proprietary language technologies has consolidated Scribendi's position as a market leader and innovator in the field.

By addressing women's economic empowerment through initiatives such as the Women Entrepreneurship Strategy (the Strategy), Canada will have the potential to add $150 billion in incremental GDP by 2026 and reach its goal of doubling the number of majority women-owned businesses by 2025. As part of the Strategy, the Government is making funding available directly to women entrepreneurs through the Women Entrepreneurship Fund. The objective is to provide support for women to grow their businesses and facilitate their pursuit of opportunities in markets abroad. The Fund is a $20 million investment providing up to $100,000 in non-repayable contribution funding for 12 months.
